What if I don’t even know how to hold a paint brush correctly?
I think most people are a lot more creative than they think. Have a glass of wine and let our artists guide you through the completion of your masterpiece. All of our projects are fun and light hearted; just relax and let go.

Can I bring wine?
When you are at our Gallery you are welcome to bring in wine, beer, wine cooler or a soft drink of your choosing. Iowa code does not allow other alcohol to be carried in.

 Do you have bottle openers for wine?
Yes, we have wine openers.

 Do you have cups for our beverages? Yes, we will have cups.

 What time should I arrive?
20 minutes should give you plenty of time to get checked in, get your supplies ready, pour yourself a drink and chat with your friends before we get started. Doors open 30 minutes ahead of time, we would like you to be in the building at least 15 minutes before the event; that way we can get the event started on time.

What if I am running late?
We all have those days where life gets in the way, of course it would be best if you could arrive on time or a few minutes early, but when that isn’t impossible our staff will assist you in catching up with the rest of the group.

How long are events?
The majority of our events are 2 hours, plan on being in studio a little over 2 ½ hours. We strive to start and end on time.

If I come with a friend or a group, can we all sit together?
We always try to seat friends and parties together…If needed we will rearrange when people are arriving, so all parties can sit together.

I want to bring my child to paint, what are the age suggestions?

Most events are Ages 14 plus with painting parent/adult guardian.

What is the cost of a Palek Studio and Gallery event?
Events range from $25-40. Visit our calendar (www.palekstudio.com/register) for additional details on events. To view event prices, click on the image you want to paint and the event details will appear.  Also note that if you preregister for most events, you’ll save yourself $5 off the ticket price.  We normally charge an extra $5 for walk in participants.

What is included in the price? 
We provide canvases/paper, paint, brushes, easels, and aprons. You’ll go home with a completed painting & many fun memories!  We also include pop/water and usually homemade treats.

What do I wear? 
We will provide aprons, but you should wear paint-friendly clothes. We are painting with acrylic paints or watercolors; paint will get on your hands, so keep that in mind. Leave expensive purses and jackets at home, we would hate for an accident to happen. Palek Studio and Gallery is not responsible for paint damage.

When does the new schedule of upcoming events come out?
The calendar for the upcoming month is posted two months in advance, normally.  www.palekstudio.com/register

Why do I have to pay when I reserve my seat?
The process of registering for a Palek Studio and Gallery event is like buying theater or sporting event tickets online: you decide when you want to go, select the date and pay for the tickets online at that time. If a show is sold out, priority goes to those who pre-pay ahead of time.

It is the day of the event and I haven’t registered for the event, can I still attend?
Please call us and we will let you know if there is space available for you and your party, 515-721-7356. We will be happy to fit you in if we have room. In the event that a show is sold out priority will first go to those who have prepaid.

How do I sign up for an event?
To sign up online for an event, click the register for classes page, find the class you want to register for, click book, then find the date for that particular class that you wish to book.  Follow the wizard from there.  You will receive a confirmation email.  Tickets or emails are not required at the door.

How does the waiting list work?
If an event is full, you may call 515-721-7356, and we will assist you in the process.

How do I cancel a reservation?
Cancellations must be made via phone no less than 48 hours in advance.

What happens if the weather is bad on the night I am registered to paint?
We will make our best effort to contact everyone on the list if we decide to postpone an event do to a weather emergency. We will set a new date for the event if you can’t make the new date let us know.  We will post all weather related changes on our Facebook page, and send out an email to those registered.

What forms of payment do you accept?
Our online system utilizes Stripe as a payment processor and allows us to accept Debit Cards, Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover Card.  We also accept PayPal as form of payment.

What if someone I know wants to sign up but doesn’t have access to the Internet?
You are welcome to register online for yourself and anyone else. You may also have them call 515-721-7356 and we will assist them in the sign up process.

Can I register by phone?
Yes, just call 515-721-7356 and we will assist you in the reservation process.

Is it safe to register on-line? 
Online payment via credit card is secure, fast, easy and will guarantee that your registration is processed immediately. We are using GoDaddy’s Stripe and PayPal to process online payments and GoDaddy/Paypal uses a secure socket certificate : 128-bit SSL encryption. Your information is safely housed on secure servers maintained by Paypal merchant services division, one of the leading worldwide providers of online payment transactions.

Do you ever share my information with third parties?
NEVER, we only use your email address to send you reminders, promotions, and news about Palek Studio and Gallery.

I have reserved a seat but am unable to attend. What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel 48 hours before the day of the event or simply fail to show, you will be charged for the event because we will be unable to fill your spot at the last minute. As long as you cancel prior to 48 hours before the scheduled event time, you will be provided a full refund or be allowed to use the credit towards another class.

Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! We now offer online gift certificates.   You can purchase your gift certificate here: https://palekstudio.com/t/gift-certificates  or  you can call, 515-721-7356, or email info@palekstudio.com and we will assist you.  You will NOT have the option to print or email your gift certificate.  Receipt from your purchase online is sufficient to redeem the gift certificate.  If you come into the Gallery, we can issue a “fancy paper certificate,” if you prefer.

How do I redeem my gift certificate?
Go to our calendar, find an event you would like to attend, click add to cart, enter your personal information and enter your gift certificate number in the voucher box.   If you have problems registering or if you would like to use your gift certificate to attend an event at one of our other studios, please call 515-721-7356 and we will assist you.

Do you offer fundraisers?
We do not offer fundraisers in the traditional sense, however, if you wanted to do a silent auction, raffle or other fundraiser, we would be happy to be the entertainment for your event.
